WHY DOES POINTS OF LIGHT EXIST?
There are over 500 churches in Oakland, but sadly, not one of them has a full-time youth leader to provide guidance and mentoring. It’s no wonder that our news channels are filled with stories of inner-city youth engaging in criminal activity! Points of Light exists to help fill that gap.
WHO IS POINTS OF LIGHT?
Points of Light is a ministry that provides weekly faith-based activities to 500 at-risk youth in Oakland with the goal of instilling Christian values, leadership, and self-confidence. POL offers hope and transformation by helping young people experience Jesus’ love.
